The transfer assumes significance, contemplating New Delhi’s official place that PoK belongs to India.
Though the IMD had been mentioning PoK areas in its nationwide forecast for the final six months after J&Ok’s bifurcation final 12 months, its regional forecasts began specifying the areas explicitly in its bulletins from May 5.
IMD director normal Mrutyunjay Mohapatra advised TOI: “Our Srinagar centre has been providing details on PoK areas in its bulletin for last few months. We have now started mentioning it in our regional forecast since May 5”.
