Sources said Wankhede, who has been given a six-month extension, his second in the agency, complained that he had learnt through sources that someone had been regularly following him even to a kabristan that he visits to pray at his mother’s grave. His mother passed away in 2015, and he been visiting the kabristan regularly.
He said two people, accompanied by two officers of Oshiwara police, even took away CCTV footage of his graveyard visits. He submitted evidence to substantiate his claim, sources said. He sought police protection for himself and his family.
